Hi, I’m Chloé…

creator and owner of designer clothing label Casabi Studio. I design and create unique clothing items using vintage kimono fabric. All of my pieces are handmade, one-of-a-kind creations sourced locally in the heart of Osaka city, Japan.

How did I end up in Japan?

I fell in love with Japan after a three-week research journey across the country focusing on Japanese handcrafts as part of my Masters degree. The creations I encountered – ceramics, lacquerware, glass, bamboo crafts – were incredibly detailed and refined, but the fabrics and kimono were what really grabbed me. I started thinking,

My passion for Japanese textiles grew into a small enterprise as more friends and family members started asking for clothing as gifts for friends and special occasions. A weddding party, an anniversary gift, or simply something new to wear to a party. The sheer elegance of each kimono transformed into wearable items creates a talking point at any gathering, even in Japan, where kimono are common.
